Memories

Found an old mix of mine, probably dating back to the late 90s.  Most of it was pretty bad, but there were some Grandaddy and Doves songs on it that I still like.  Maybe you'll like them too...

8/8/09: Seattle

Finally got my camera back, allowing me to document sessions again. Everyone skated Seattle on saturday.  Here's what happened:

Lots of tricks went down on this flat gap.  Josh was throwing around switch backside flips.

Pretty sure he's saying "Think some sick shit."

"I'm gonna throw this at Jake and you take a picture."  Jake was not pleased.

"Did it look like I popped?"  No, Eric, sorry.

The broom was a necessity at this spot.

Zeb was the only one who even tried skating this thing.  He and Eric found a piece of angle iron that was probably 20 feet long and propped it up there.  It's held down by two big rocks on each end, as is the ramp up to it.  Don't forget the rebar sticking out of the top too.  Translation: sketchy. 

Eric and Dave were hyped, I think Calvin was perplexed.

We then went to this school and skated some grass hills.

Eric got epic, as usual.

Dave got hyped, as usual.

Jake filmed it all, as usual.

Afterwards, we had some beers and watched the footy, as usual.

Greg and Justin came and smiled, as usual.

R. Stevie Moore

If you don't know him, allow me to introduce you. Robert Steven Moore, the so-called "Grandfather of DIY", has been making music since the early 70s and continues still today. Almost all of this stuff is recorded on reel to reel, which I imagine is incredibly difficult and tedious. Anyway, I enjoy him greatly and hope you do as well.

Spotless City

So apparently this was posted a year ago, but it's new to me and super sick. A little edit from Tom Carter, local video guy.

The Unexpected

I've been wanting to skate this gap to bench in Issaquah for years. We went there Sunday, hoping to get this trick that had been in my mind for so long. It didn't really go as planned...


After bailing it for a bit, I was finally getting comfortable.

This was the first one I really went for.

Everything was looking good until...

Snap.




Didn't see that coming.

After destroying the bench, I tried to prop it up so no one would notice, but everyone in the nearby salon saw the whole thing. We started walking away and one of the workers came out saying "Uh, are you guys going to do anything about that?" We convinced her the city would cover it and bolted.

This goes to show that you never know what's around the corner.

A new addition to the family

Congratulations to Josh and Jessica! Their little girl, Caydence, was born Wednesday night. At 7 and a half pounds, she's healthy and doing well!
